How long will my GPO US video wall last?
GPO US is introducing our new FAQ series. We will answer the most common questions asked out on the field. We hope this series will help guide all of you as we strive to become a resource for your display and video wall projects!
How long will my GPO
US video wall last?
-The LCD panels used in our video
wall displays are rated at 50,000 hours MTBF.
In other words, a GPO US video wall can typically operate constantly
(24/7/365) for over 5.7 years before reaching half-brightness. While video wall and LCD technology has
advanced to the point that this is common, GPO US video walls have the added
security of a superior backend electronics package. The high-grade power supplies used in our
solutions will ensure that the failure rate of backend electronics within that
5-6 year period is unparalleled. All of
the aforementioned numbers assume 24/7 operation, so many applications would
likely lead to a video wall lasting upwards of a decade, depending on the
environment and hours of use.
-
Tips: Users can maintain
the life span of our video walls by powering off displays when not in use and
by keeping ambient temperature in mind.
Factors such as airflow in recessed wall applications should also be
taken into account. It is also wise to
place the video wall in a well-ventilated area.
The vast majority of heat output on an LCD video wall emanates from the
panel, so keep this in mind when designing video wall enclosures and/or
cosmetic trim. GPO US team members are a
phone call away should you require additional guidance.
